The Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce, along with the Bow Island & Burdett Chamber of Commerce are coming together to enhance services and increase value for the regional business community in Southeast Alberta through a recently approved service agreement.

The Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce recently approved their strategic plan in March of this year with one of their goals identified as influencing regional collaboration and opportunities through the strength of their network by exploring partnership opportunities with other Chambers and organizations. At the same time, the Bow Island and Burdett Chamber of Commerce was seeking out ways to increase value and connections with their membership, while maximizing their resources.

The Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce announced its call for nominations for its Board of Directors, with nominations being accepted from Monday, May 3 to Monday, May 31, 2021.

Each spring, the Chamber of Commerce holds an election to fill expiring or vacant positions on the Board of Directors, comprised of 12-member representatives. Directors serve a two-year term that commences following the Chamber Annual General Meeting in November of each year.

Canada’s largest business association says today’s budget had many positives for businesses as they look to adapt and exit the pandemic, but our longer-term economic health will depend on the government managing debt and deficits.
