Methanex is the world's largest producer and supplier of methanol to major international markets in North America, Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America. Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Methanex currently operates methanol production sites in Canada (Medicine Hat, Alberta), Chile, Egypt, New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago and the United States. Our facility in Medicine Hat is Canada’s only commercial-scale methanol producer and is a major employer providing approximately 130 highly-skilled permanent and temporary full-time positions, as well as term and contract positions. Methanex’s operation contributes to a significant number of indirect jobs in the local area. Methanex's Medicine Hat methanol plant provides a much-needed local supply of methanol to Alberta industries and added value to Alberta’s natural gas (feedstock). An active and involved corporate citizen, Methanex contributes to the social and cultural development of Medicine Hat through community outreach and a variety of social responsibility investment programs.

Our global operations are supported by an extensive global supply chain of terminals, storage facilities and the world’s largest dedicated fleet of methanol ocean tankers.
