The Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce is encouraging local businesses to explore the Alberta Chambers of Commerce Trade Missions program, which is designed as a networking tool.
A press release issued Wednesday touts the trade mission program that offers businesses a way to connect with shareholders by attending targeted industry events, site visits, networking sessions and business-to-business meetings that occur across the country.
The program is aimed at helping businesses find new markets, strengthen partnerships and grow as economic conditions in North America continue to evolve.
“Many businesses are looking beyond their traditional markets to find new customers, suppliers and investment opportunities,” reads the release.
Executive director Lisa Dressler says trade missions go beyond simply travelling to other parts of the country.
“They are about creating opportunities,” said Dressler. “Whether a business is looking to expand sales, strengthen supply chains, explore new industries, or build strategic partnerships, these missions help open doors that might otherwise remain out of reach.”
Participants also benefit from pre-mission preparation and post-mission support to help maximize long-term results for businesses.
Dressler says the initiative aligns with the chamber’s ongoing commitment to helping businesses diversify markets, strengthen competitiveness and build resilience in an increasingly interconnected economy.
“Expanding beyond local and regional boundaries is becoming increasingly important for businesses of all sizes,” said Dressler. “These missions provide valuable insights, connections and opportunities that can help businesses grow while bringing new ideas and relationships back to southeast Alberta.”
Upcoming trade missions include an aerospace, aviation and drone technology conference in Montreal, an agri-food and food processing networking event in Toronto, an IT innovation summit in Vancouver, an Indigenous energy partnership summit in Calgary, an agriculture and equipment expo in Red Deer and a construction and infrastructure expo in Edmonton.
