About Elevation Landscaping Inc.

At Elevation Landscaping Inc., we don’t just manage projects—we get the job done. We specialize in commercial and municipal landscaping, irrigation, and maintenance, and we take pride in building strong, reliable teams that work together to deliver high-quality results.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to lead our Medicine Hat division. This is not a desk job—while you’ll oversee operations, manage teams, and drive project success, you’ll also be in the field when needed, assisting with installations, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring job sites run smoothly. If you thrive in both leadership and hands-on work, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead from the Field – Work alongside crews to ensure smooth project execution, providing direction and hands-on support when needed.
  • Oversee Landscaping & Irrigation Projects – Manage all aspects of landscaping, irrigation system installation and maintenance, and final site clean-up to meet client expectations.
  • Drive Project Success – Schedule crews, allocate equipment, and monitor progress to ensure contracts are completed on time, within budget, and up to our high standards.
  • Build & Maintain Strong Client Relationships – Foster long-term partnerships with clients, consultants, and municipal partners, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership & Development – Hire, train, and mentor site managers and field crews, ensuring a motivated and high-performing team.
  • Operate & Maintain Equipment – Assist with operating skid steers, mini hoes, and other heavy equipment when needed and ensure proper maintenance.
  • Ensure Safety & Compliance – Conduct site inspections, enforce safety regulations, and promote a safety-first culture among employees.
  • Financial Oversight – Track project budgets, approve expenses, and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Administrative & Reporting Duties – Maintain records of project progress, safety incidents, and equipment usage, and support invoicing and contract compliance.

Performance Expectations & Accountabilities

The Operations Manager (MH Division) will be measured on the following key performance factors:

  • Project Execution & Contract Fulfillment – Ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Operational Efficiency – Maximizing resources, workforce productivity, and equipment utilization to enhance project outcomes.
  • Budget & Financial Management – Ensuring projects are successfully executed within budget while adhering to all contractual obligations.
  • Health & Safety Compliance – Maintaining a zero-incident workplace and enforcing all industry safety regulations and site standards.
  • Client & Consultant Relations – Strengthening client satisfaction and professional relationships through effective communication and project delivery.

We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial landscaping, irrigation, construction, or project management preferred
  • 2+ years in operations management with leadership responsibilities preferred
  • Proven hands-on experience—you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and help in the field
  • Experience managing large-scale commercial and municipal contracts
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) certification are assets but not required
  • Willingness to obtain PMP or CIC designation and participate in additional training as needed
  • Ability to read blueprints, interpret project specifications, and manage contracts
  • Strong relationship-building skills to develop long-term partnerships with client
  •  Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills
  •  Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 3 or 1 preferred)
  • First Aid and Ground Disturbance certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience operating skid steers, mini hoes, and other heavy equipment is an asset
  • Ability to haul trailers and operate heavy equipment (skid steers, mini hoes, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in client and stakeholder interactions

Working Conditions

  • Field and office-based role – Expect a mix of hands-on outdoor work and operational planning
  • Physical demands – Must be able to lift, carry, and handle materials and equipment over 50 lbs
  • Outdoor environment – Exposure to varying weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Equipment operation – Required to assist with operating and maintaining machinery when needed
  • Travel – Periodic travel to project sites across Alberta and Saskatchewan
  • Flexibility – Occasional extended hours and weekend work based on project demands

Why Join Elevation Landscaping Inc.?

  • Competitive Salary & Benefits – Starting at $85,000/year with opportunities for growth
  • Health Spending Account – $1,500 per year (100% employer-paid) for management employees
  • Company Vehicle Access – Use of a company truck for work-related travel
  • Career Growth & Stability – Join a well-established and growing company
  • Supportive, Hardworking Team – Work alongside skilled professionals who take pride in what they do
