Position:  Full-Time -Monday to Friday (occasional weekends as needed)

Wage Grid: $18-$24 per hour (Starting wage is based on industry experience, expertise and skill level)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to support landscaping maintenance, post-project site cleanup, and general upkeep of properties. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

What You’ll Do

• Perform grass cutting, trimming, edging, and weed control on maintained properties
• Assist in post-project cleanup, including debris removal and site restoration
• Conduct routine site inspections and report any concerns to the Maintenance Manager
• Support the maintenance of irrigation systems, including seasonal preparations and minor repairs
• Operate mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment safely and efficiently
• Haul and navigate trailers to transport materials and equipment to job sites
• Assist with routine servicing, cleaning, and minor repairs of landscaping tools and equipment
• Follow all workplace health and safety regulations and wear required PPE
• Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Manager and team to complete scheduled tasks

Performance Expectations & Accountabilities

The Maintenance Assistant will be evaluated on:

• Work Quality & Productivity – Completing tasks efficiently and maintaining high standards
• Adherence to Safety & Compliance – Following all workplace safety policies and procedures
• Equipment Use & Site Maintenance – Properly operating and maintaining landscaping tools and equipment
• Teamwork & Communication – Working effectively with the Maintenance Manager and other crew members
• Reliability & Initiative – Demonstrating a strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or maintenance is an asset but not required
• Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
• Ability to haul trailers safely and efficiently
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle 50+ lbs throughout shifts
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and contribute to a positive team environment

Working Conditions

• Hands-on, physically demanding role that requires lifting, bending, and manual labour
• Exposure to outdoor conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind
• Travel to various sites to complete landscaping, maintenance, and cleanup tasks (using company vehicles and trailer)
• Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional extended hours or weekend work based on project needs
