Position Title: Career/Employment Advisor 

Location: YMCA of Southeastern Alberta-Brooks Employment Office

Reports To: Career & Employment Supervisor

Pay Grid: $21-$23/hour

Department: Brooks Employment Centre

Hours: 40 hours per week (temporary until June 26, 2026 with opportunity for permanent)

What qualifications are we looking for?

At the YMCA of Southeastern Alberta, we strive to ensure our employees are a good fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. 

The successful candidate will have the following:


Education/Certifications/Credentials/Professional Registration

    University Degree or Diploma in Human Services/ HR/Social Sciences and/or Business

    Standard First Aid, CPR-Level C

    Evidence of a clear Police Information Check (with Vulnerable Sector Search if applicable), within the last six months  

    Must have a valid driver’s license with a class 07 automobile insurance coverage business use (or pleasure with occasional business use) and a minimum of $2,000,000 in liability coverage.


Knowledge & Skills

    Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

    Knowledge of employment, education, and training strategies, local labor market information and community resources

    Exceptional customer service attitude and skills

    Organizational and time management skills

    Strong leadership and communication skills


What does this role look like at the YMCA of Southeastern Alberta?

Reporting to the Career & Employment Supervisor, the Career and Employment Advisor will assist individuals in providing comprehensive and individualized services that enable job seekers to acquire workplace and occupational skills allowing them to re-enter the workforce as quickly as possible.
