Journey of Hope and Courage The Medicine Hat Women's Shelter Society has over 30 years of experience in the delivery of programs and services to women and children who have been impacted by family violence. The Society began with a 6 bed shelter (Phoenix Safe House) and grew to 30 bed capacity and continues to expand the other programs and services. We have expanded our services from emergency shelter services to become one of the few organizations in Alberta with comprehensive services to many areas of family violence. Our services include, a 24 hour crisis support and information services, a 30 bed Emergency Residential Shelter (Phoenix Safe House), 10 Supported Living units (Musasa House), Housing First Program, Outreach Programs for women, youth, children and men, Safe Families Intervention located in the Medicine Hat Police Station, Support Groups, Community Education and Awareness and Child Support Programs.
