APEX RIN - Tech Night

APEX RIN - Tech Night

Thursday, January 22, 2026 (5:30 PM - 7:30 PM) (MST)

Description

Tech Nights are a fun, relaxed networking environment where you can connect with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) community in Southeast Alberta. They offer an opportunity for students and industry to engage with each other and include a Tech Talk where local experts share their stories to help inspire others.

Join us as Lesley Burton, Lead Agrologist with the Centre for Innovation at Medicine Hat College, shares how C4i is advancing applied research in agriculture through the use of remotely piloted aerial systems (RPAS). Lesley and the team will highlight how they're working alongside local producers to support crop and field optimization, demonstrate recent project outcomes, and discuss where drone-enabled insights are heading next. You’ll also have the opportunity to see the technology up close and learn how these tools are being used in real-world agricultural environments.

This tech night will be held at Safety Buzz Campus, located at 350 Eagle Butte Rd in Dunmore, AB.

In support of Dry January, this Tech Night will be alcohol-free. Don’t worry — we’ll still have plenty of delicious beverage options on hand, including selections from our local beverage partners!

Don't forget to register! While this event is free thanks to our sponsors, seating is limited.

Tech Nights are brought to you by: C4i at Medicine Hat College • APEGA Medicine Hat Branch • APEX Regional Innovation Network of Southeast Alberta, powered by Alberta Innovates
