We are currently looking for an outgoing, positive individual skilled in business development, business support and building member relationships, to join our team as our Member Relations Manager.

The Member Relations Manager serves all primary functions of membership services for the Chamber and its members, responsible for the coordination and implementation of the growth, retention, sales and marketing of membership services and supports to develop relationships in order to achieve a high level of member satisfaction. 

The ideal candidate will have at least four years' business development experience and be able to demonstrate success in:

  • New sales and lead generation
  • Retention strategies
  • Positive customer service relationship management
  • A proven sales process
  • Reputable account management
  • Professional business communications

Key target and outcomes would be:

  • Continue to build on our relationships with our over 900+ members
  • On-board a minimum of 10 new members each month
  • Develop and implement an ongoing member recruitment and retention strategy
  • Manage our customer relations management database
  • Market and sell memberships for the Chamber
  • Provide business support services to our members
  • Evaluate other community and business partnerships
  • Develop and meet budgets on a year over year basis

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of general office practices, administration and marketing
  • Financial planning, budgeting, reporting and analysis
  • Project management
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other staff, board, members, committees, volunteers and community partners
  • Skilled in customer service and member relations practices
  • Ability to operate office equipment i.e. printers, copiers, scanners, fax and postage machine
  • Good organizational, written and verbal skills
  • Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization
  • Understanding of the functions and purpose of Chambers of Commerce

Proficiency in the use of computers for:

  • Microsoft Office Applications: Office 365 including, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams
  • Database Management
  • Internet Applications
  • Design & Marketing (Corel, Adobe or Canva)
  • Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)

Candidates should be able to describe their approach to sales and providing positive customer service, effective community relations, and experience managing and building cohesive relationships, both internally and externally.

The successful candidate will continue to build our relationships with our current members while also creating new sales opportunities through prospecting and developing new client relationships.

This is a full-time permanent position with a commencement date on January 10, 2022. All staff within the Chamber require flexible schedules as events, including our trade shows, markets and business awards, will require availability on evenings and weekends that events take place.
