We are currently looking for an individual interested in research, analysis, government relations, policy and program development to join our team in the role of Industry Support and Government Relations

Would you like to be a part of the Chamber’s Business Development team to support our business community through our economic recovery and building our future? We are currently looking for an individual skilled in policy research and development, government and stakeholder relations, communications and program development to join our team as Industry Support and Government Relations.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ business development or government relations experience and be able to demonstrate success in:

  • research and analysis
  • policy development
  • committee management 
  • stakeholder and government relations
  • positive customer relationship management 
  • reputable account management
  • program development and delivery
  • professional business communications

Candidates should be able to describe their approach to providing positive customer service, effective stakeholder and government relations, and experience managing and building cohesive relationships, both internally and externally, along with providing samples of written communications.

The successful candidate will continue to build on our government and stakeholder relations while also creating new opportunities in policy and program development.

For someone looking for growth opportunities in this role, they must be effective in time management strategies, have a high growth mindset, be interested in professional development and be interested in seeking out new opportunities within the Chamber.

Key targets and outcomes would be:

  • Develop and implement an annual advocacy plan 
  • Manage all committee and task force relationships 
  • Develop and track all track all policy related activities and Lobbyist Act submissions 
  • Manage policy communications with the Alberta Chambers and Canadian Chamber of Commerce
  • Monitor all government activity to assess the impact on the business environment 
  • Manage survey processes and data analysis
  • Identify any related advocacy opportunities 
  • Develop programs and resources for industry and business supports
  • Develop policy related communications and op-ed articles for publications and social media
  • Develop and meet budgets on a year over year basis

This is a full-time permanent position with a commencement date scheduled in the summer of 2022. The job does require a flexible schedule as events, including our trade shows, markets and business awards, will require availability on evenings and weekends.
